Rick Amato is an American national television host, radio host, columnist and political commentator. He is widely regarded as a conservative commentator although he is often critical of the Republican Party and views himself as an Independent. Amato is an advocate for capitalism, limited government, and grass roots politics. He believes the greatest political threat facing the American people today is not from the Left, but instead, from the growing disconnect which exists in both political parties between elected officials and those they were elected to represent. ==Personal life== He was born in the western Pennsylvania steel town of Sharon, Pennsylvania and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is the grandson of Italian and German immigrants. Amato is a graduate of The Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania where he majored in Marketing and minored in Economics and Accounting. Ricks background includes working as a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch.
